Single Fly Contest

The eighth annual "Single Fly Contest" is scheduled on January 1st, 2010. This event will be held at Slough Creek inside the Sedgwick County Park just west of Sedgwick County Zoo. We will be meeting at the Horseshoe shelter at 8:00 AM. Registration starts at 8:00 AM. Breakfast will be served from 8 AM to 10 AM. The tournament is scheduled from 10 AM to 2 PM. Award ceremony and lunch will start at 2 PM. There is no entry fee for this event.

Everyone should bring or tie his/her own fly and register at the event. Fish only with the fly you have registered. Only the fish that you have caught with the fly will be counted. Once you loose the fly, catch five fish, or time expires, you should report the result to the officials.

New year's Kansas fishing license and a trout stamp are required to enter this event. Fishing licenses are available at regional KDWP office or online at KDWP(Next year's fishing license will be available from the 3rd week of December.)

Only one fly can be used.
Lose your fly and you are finished.

Each participant will receive a score card and must turn it in to the tournament director before 2:00 P.M. Kansas fishing regulations in effect.   
Be sure to get your KS fishing license and trout stamp before the 1st.
Competition will begin at 10:00 A.M and run until 2:00 P.M.

Trophies will be awarded and displayed by the club.

Winner of each category must give the winning fly to the club and provide the recipe and fishing technique used.
